What Original IC Actually Means

MagSafe cases fall into two groups. Plain magnetic cases have a ring of magnets and nothing else - they hold a charger, but the phone shows no animation and does not identify the case. Original IC cases include the authentication chip, so the iPhone recognises the accessory and displays the MagSafe ring animation the moment it attaches. Functionally, charging works either way. Why Anti-Yellowing Matters on a Clear Case
